Corner-window room tone
The brief
Static frames in the corner-window room whose sound places you before the picture does.
Use Shot 1’s audio as an unbroken bed under the whole piece and cut picture while that audio continues.
- Shot 1’s audio plays continuously from first frame to last with no audible seam.
- Both picture cuts happen while Shot 1’s audio continues under them.
- The finished cut runs between 30 and 60 seconds.
The cut
THE CREATOR'S WORDS I merged the 3 videos and muted them, then recorded a separate audio of 44 seconds to fit the merged 3 videos duration so I can keep the audio ongoing, I also edited the sound of the audio to remove background noise from my fan that is always on
The critique
You built a seamless soundscape across three static frames by laying in a separate audio track. However, by dropping the clips in unedited, the visual rhythm stalls and the edit feels untended.
Shot 1’s audio plays continuously from first frame to last with no audible seam.
Audio plays continuously, but you recorded a separate track instead of extracting it from a native take.
Both picture cuts happen while Shot 1’s audio continues under them.
The custom audio bed carries seamlessly over both picture cuts.
The finished cut runs between 30 and 60 seconds.
The total runtime is exactly 43.7 seconds.
NEXT ACTION Trim five seconds off the head and tail of the second shot.
- Continuous audio bed. You successfully eliminated the jarring audio jumps from your first attempt by laying down an unbroken track.
- Use native room tone. You recorded a separate audio file rather than extracting and extending the native sound from one of the actual clips.
You solved the jarring cuts, but relied on a separate recording instead of manipulating the provided audio materials.
